A 66-year-old male presented at our hospital with abdominal pain and nausea after preparation for colonoscopy. CT imaging showed sigmoid colon wall thickening with inflammatory change. Colonic obstruction due to colonic cancer was suspected, so the patient underwent emergency colonoscopy for decompression and diagnosis. Multiple inflamed diverticula and colonic stricture were identified, but no neoplastic lesions. The patient’s symptoms improved with the decompression tube and antibiotics, but the colonic stricture remained. Left hemicolectomy was performed and the patient’s symptoms improved.
