Photonic reservoir computer as an emerging AI accelerator

Abstract

Recent rapid advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) technologies have motivated the development of novel computing hardware and concepts. Neuro-inspired photonic computing has great potential for overcoming the major bottlenecks of conventional electronic computing hardware and has attracted considerable attention as an emerging AI accelerator. Herein, the author reports on our recent progress in neuro-inspired photonic computing, specifically focusing on photonic reservoir computing.
