Iridium oxide (IrOx) films exhibit pronounced electrochromic effects. Various methods for producing electrochromic IrOx films are described: they are anodic oxidation, reactive sputtering, method developed by Nikon group, vacuum deposition followed by thermal oxidation in air and periodic reverse current electrolysis. Characteristics of these films are shown. The structure and performance of an electrochromic device are presented.
