Abstract
The diagnosis of Meckel's diverticulum with rectal bleeding has been made from clinical impressions, after excluding other causes by radiographic examinations and sigmoidoscopy.
However, preoperative diagnosis has been recently possible by using abdominal scanning with radioactive 99mTc-pertechnetate which is affinitive to parietal cells of gastrio mucosa.
In this report, 2 children, 3 year-old boy and 11 year-old girl with Meckel's diverticulum are presented. These cases with bloody stool and anemia were preoperatively diagnosed by the abdominal scanning described above and were successfully operated.
