Abstract
Experimentally the author has found in a view of mechanical strength, histological and histochemical studies of wound about the appendectomized dogs that the well nourished group showed the better wound healing in comparison with the control group.
Clinically the ultrasonic research about the bowel movement, caloric study and absorption test of electrolytes in the patients after appendectomy showed the early recovering of the peristaltic movement and the absorption in the early stage after operation.
In the early stage after appendectomy, the group given the hospital diet did not fill the necessary calories, but the high protein high caloric diet group showed the best oral intakes of protein, potassium and vitamine. And the nitrogen balance, potassium, water, caloric balances in the high protein high caloric diet group were also better than the control group.
