Experimentally the author has found in a view of mechanical strength, histological and histochemical studies of wound about the appendectomized dogs that the well nourished group showed the better wound healing in comparison with the control group. Clinically the ultrasonic research about the bowel movement, caloric study and absorption test of electrolytes in the patients after appendectomy showed the early recovering of the peristaltic movement and the absorption in the early stage after operation. In the early stage after appendectomy, the group given the hospital diet did not fill the necessary calories, but the high protein high caloric diet group showed the best oral intakes of protein, potassium and vitamine. And the nitrogen balance, potassium, water, caloric balances in the high protein high caloric diet group were also better than the control group.

To measure the cardiopulmonary function of thirty-one swimming athletes, vital capacity, maximum breathing capacity and step up test were taken and compared with normal controls. 1) Vital capacity and maximum breathing capacity of the swimming athletes were remarkably large when compared with young men who were non-athletes. Their vital capacity was larger than that of other athletes but their maximum breathing capacity shows almost the same increase. 2) In lung volume of the swimming athletes, total volume and vital capacity were large and ratio of residual volume was low. The increase of vital capacity was caused by the increase of inspiratory reserve volume. This is considered as the adaptation of respiratory phase to swimming. 3) In step up test, cardiopulmonary function of the swimming athletes showed very suitable change for exercise. This is considered to be the result of the increase of adaptive power of cardiopulmonary function to exercise.

Antigenic structures of several species of the genus Saccharomyces had been reported by a few investigators. This paper deals with experimental results of antigen analyses of another four species of the genus Saccharomyces in connection with the antigen of the genus Candida. The experiments were carried out by the slide agglutination methods using the monospecific or absorbed antisera. Results obtained were summarized as follows : These results show that the antigenic structures of S. exiguus and S. acidifaciens are closely resembled and antigenic structures of S. rosei are exactry the same as those of S. fermentati. The author believes that the antigenic structures of the species will serve as the reliable basis for the accurate classification of the genus.

Electrocardiograms were taken serially for two years in 126 cases which had undergone chest surgery for pulmonary tuberculosis. In 104 cases one year post-operatively a simple cardiopulmonary function tests were carried out. 1.Changes in the electrical position : In each group- lung resection in pu_??_nonary tuberculosis (exclusive of pneumonectomy), corrective thoracoplasty and thoracoplasty-- the number showing vertical position was reduced one week post.operatively. One month after surgery there was a tendency of a gradual increase of the number of cases showing vertical position. 2.Changes in the transitional zone : In each group 60 per cent showed no change regardless of surgery. In those showing changes the shift was toward the operated side in partial resection group and toward the healthy side in thoracoplastic group. 3.Heart shadow and transitional zone : Both showed a tendency of shifting to the same side and in the electrical axis the shift to the right was most common. 4.Post-operative incomplete right bundle branch block and right ventricular overloading : This picture was supposed to appear as a result of right ventricular dilatation due to right ventricular overloading. The changes appeared one week after surgery and showed a tendency of returning to pre-operative condition after 3 to 6 months. In the second group this picture appeared about 3 months after surgery and was seen even after 2 years. The former was generally those cases under the age of 30 years with good post-operative course. The latter cases mostly were those over 40 years of age of those showing some complication and unsatisfactory course. The causes can be listed as pre-and post-operative pleural adhesion, re-expansion of the remaining lung, complications, thoracic disconfiguration and so on. 5.Other changes in the electrocardiogram : P and ST. T changes were seen in partial resection and segmental resection groups. In each group recovery from these changes was seen in majority of the cases after one month. Those which showed continuous P and ST. T changes had complications or unfavorable course of illness. 6.Cardio-Pulmonary Function : Those with partial resection and segmental resection and showing very slight pleural adhesions and good re-expansion of the remaining lung with no post-operative complications showed the best result. The results of rehabilitation were also the same.

The present paper deals with a part of series of the author's studies on experimental arsine poisoning. Experiments were made by giving 0.1gr arsenous acid and 0.15gr Neo-Neo Arsemin to mouth for rabbits, and were researched on the excretion of contained Arsen in their urine and feces. At the experimental arsine poisoning were researched on the pathological and histological findings of their tissues. At these studies, the following results were obtained. (1) At the inhalation of arsine, inhalated arsen was transported from body to urine. Kidney is attacked by arsine. Excretion of urine is irregular, and excretion of contained arsen of urine and feces. (2) At the giving of arsenous acid, arsen is transported from the digestive organ to urine. Excreted amount of arsen is a little than giving dose. (3) At the giving of Neo Nes Arsemin, arsen is transported from the digestive organ to urine. Excreted arsen is in a little amount than giving dose. (4) At the intravenous injection of Neo-Neo Arsemin, arsen is transported from the body to urine speedily. Excreted arsen from urine and feces are regular. Excreted arsen is 92.3-97% after 21 days. (5) At the inhalation of arsine, pathological changes are remarkable. In liver, kidney, spreen, heart, brain and lung was found toxic degeneration. (6) Inhalated arsine from lung destributed in all tissues, and Particularly in liver, kidney, spreen, lung, heart, was contained much usually. (7) By the Berlinerblau-pyronin staining hemosiderosis was observed in spleen.
