Abstract

Research results on the story creation and the assistance for story creation using artificial intelligence (AI) are greatly increasing. However, the reports from the creator sides are rare. The ways of story creation are varied by each creator, but the process or ideas how the creators are making stories should be shared with the AI researchers. As a novelist mainly based on Japanese history, the writer of this article has written several novels using the “Creation Assistance System.” This article states how the assistance system worked and what types of assistance are expected from the viewpoint of one of creators. Also, based on the experiences of actual writings, it is stated that adjustment of query sets in the assistance system based on “predicted curve of emotion” and varieties of query sets for characters creation are expected for future assistance system. Also, plot analysis based on single scene, not necessarily based on the whole story from the beginning until the end, is proposed.
