Extractions of quantitative relationship between material properties from materials science textbooks

Abstract

We have worked on making network-type database where relationships among various materials properties are stored and searched. The relationships are extracted from science textbooks using natural language processing techniques. In material science, quantitative relationship is also very important. Here, we have made a trial to extract quantitative relationships between material properties from mathematical formula and texts in materials science textbooks.
