Abstract

In recent years, artificial intelligence (AI) Ethics has been developed. AI Ethics tend to apply the same ethics for humans to AI. However, it is not apparent that ethics for humans can be applied to AI. The Ethics of artifacts should be based on the characteristics of the focused artifact. For example, data-driven AI technologies that interact and change with users are characterized by the fact that we cannot know how their outputs will change. For such technologies, it is necessary to establish the areas where AI output may change. Additionally, it is necessary to clarify how users would like to be affected by changes in technology. In this paper, we report the results of a co-design workshop to investigate users' values on how they would like to be affected by technology. Based on the results, we discuss the future directions for connecting AI Ethics to technology.
