The paper presents a study concerning the phosphate anions (10÷1000-mg·l-1) removal by precipitate flotation (DAF) in comparison with the precipitate settling down without collector (tensioactive agent). The optimal process parameters (pH, Ca2+/PO43- molar ratio, collector/PO43-molar ratio, ammonium and/or metallic ions influence and the settling down time) were established for “model” aqueous systems and verified for practical solutions. The insoluble species isolated by flotation at optimal parameters were characterized by differential thermal analysis and electronic and vibration spectrometry.
The species separated from the foam represent basic-orthophosphate as a major compound.
