New rhabdophane-type LnPO4·nH2O (Ln=Tm and Lu) were prepared by the homogeneous precipitation using dissociation of Ln(edta)- complex in phosphate solutions in the presence of Na+ under the the hydrothermal condition. R-(Tm, Yb and Lu) could not be prepared in the absence of Na+. The lattice constants of R-(Tm and Yb) reached constant with increasing Na+ concentration. R-(Tm and Yb) contained about 5.4wt% of Na+.
