In a flood disaster, it is thought that the quantity of the household-goods damage is prescribed by the depth of flood. But household-goods damage can be reduced by preparing against flood disaster and preserving household goods during flood disaster. However, it is expected that progress of the flood affects the way of preservation action and inhabitants have to choose either preservation action or evacuation behavior in the time of the flood disaster.
In this study, we grasp the actual condition of household-goods damage in heavy rainfall disaster in Tokai District in 2000. Then, we clarify the effect of preparing against flood disaster and preservation action during flood disaster to damage. Moreover, we analyze the relation between preservation action and progress of flood and between preservation action and evacuation behavior.
