Development of a Laser-Guided Deep-Hole Measuring System

Abstract

It is very difficult to measure precisely the shape of the deep–hole of which the L/D ratio is large. To evaluate the accuracy of such a deep hole, the autocollimation principle is applied to the measuring system. The measuring unit is installed in the front end of the probe, which is guided by the laser.
The hole wall is spirally scanned, and the hole accuracy is measured. In this paper, the measurement unit is produced on trial , and the performance is tested.
