Form Generation of Self-Moving Tray Groups for Deskwork Support System

Abstract

We have proposed “Attentive Workbench (AWB),” a new cell production system for supporting human workers using self-moving trays. Each object (i.e. tool, assembly part, product etc.) is transported by a single tray or a group of multiple trays, according to the shape and size. In this report, a heuristic method of efficient group formation of trays is proposed. Experimental results show the effectiveness of the present method.
