Abstract
Work on constituting a flexible manufacturing system that can respond to high-mix very-low-volume production by using intelligence is proposed in this research. The intelligence is provided by a product agent. This report examines a method of realizing the negotiation function to determine the selection of the production machines for each manufacturing step and to obtain a schedule in real time through the negotiation among two or more product agents aiming to increase efficiency of the whole manufacturing system. Manufacturing scheduling was performed based on time for delivery.
