Abstract
This paper deals with the Ball Spline fatigue life distribution under simultaneously applied radial load and torque. This life test rig automatically stopped by vibration sensor when flakings occurred. Life test data are plotted by log-normal, 2-parameter and 3-parameter Weibull distribution respectively. The results are as follows: (1) The life distributions of Ball Spline are well conformed to the 3-parameter Weibull distribution function with a Weibull slope m=10/9. (2) The flaking occurrences are almost from the end portions of outer sleeve raceway.
