Abstract
Theoretical and experimental investigations of the parallel improvement when using the double–sided lapping machine were carried out. First, the theoretical formula of the parallel improvement in lapping was induced taking account of the balance of the lapping pressure on individual works. In lapping experiment, the lapping machine for 4 pieces of work was used to improving parallelism of 3 pieces of work. With the help of the theoretical formula, the highly precise parallel lapping with high reproducibility was attained. 3 pieces of stainless steel work of &phy;60mm × t10mm are less than 1μm in thickness.
