Abstract
There are many requirements to manipulate mechanical components and bio–samples with their size from μm to mm. A micro–manipulator driven by light beam is developed to grip an object by three optical fiber cantilevers. The end of optical fiber cantilevers is polished to bevel with painting black. The optical fiber cantilevers bend by photo–thermal effect for gripping the object. The shape of optical fiber cantilever is optimized to use the finite element method. In the experiment, it is succeed to manipulate the glass particles.
