In most hospitals in Japan, nurses make schedules how they carry out nursing care for all patients using worksheets. Because of current complex medical treatment modalities and high acuity levels of patients, those schedules often do not go as planned. Nurses frequently encounter interruptions while performing nursing care. This phenomenon creates prolonging nurses′ work hours and particularly impacted on novice nurses. However, an evaluation system for this phenomenon has been received little attention from nurses. In this study, a dynamic scheduling method is proposed. The system was tested in the simulated experimental conditions with which clinical nurses were asked to perform assigned nursing tasks. In this experiment, simulated patients were also introduced for bringing in line with reality. By comparing with the care performed by the nurses′own action rules, it is confirmed that the proposed method is highly applicable to practical nurses′ work environments.
