Abstract
In the embedded mechatronic system, fixed-point microprocessors with the short word length are used from making energy, space, and cost saving. The mechanisms are controlled by the quantized controller output in fixedpoint arithmetic. Therefore, the minute control cannot be achieved for the short word length. Thus, in this paper the new control methodology that decreases the quantization step of the controller output is proposed. The methodology is based on the principle of the PWM by using zero-order hold with the multirate sampling. Furthermore, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by simulations.
