Abstract
We have investigated medical sensing using wireless sensor network devices and MEMS sensor devices. The sensor systems are constructed by 3D accelerometer, three gyroscopes, and optical heart rate monitor which attached on the ear. The sensing systems by wireless sensor network devices and MEMS devices have features such us non-restraint, cheapness, small size and lightweight. We have examined the gait analysis with a multi-point sensing at the same time and the heart rate measurement in real time using optical heart rate monitor. The sampling rates of over 50 cycles per second have been obtained with running 6 devices at the same time. Accurate walk trajectories of three persons are derived at 20 milliseconds of the sampling interval. We consider that the sensor network devices are useful to monitor the stress of movement.
