Abstract
Ultrasonic cutting technology is applicable to superior precision machining of difficult-to-cut materials because that technology reduces cutting resistance and improves tool life. This technology has been conventionally carried out at low cutting speed. Therefore it is applied to high quality production due to production efficiency is low.In recent years, advanced ultrasonic generating technology can generate powerful ultrasonic waves. In this research, high speed ultrasonic cutting experiments were carried out to improve production efficiency. In this report, high speed ultrasonic cutting experiments for Titanium (Ti-6Al-4V) alloy were carried out and the results are reported.
