Recognition of squealing sound

Abstract

Recognition of squealing sound like old door hinges and brakes are related to malfunctioning of machines. These sounds consist of harmonic structures like vowels of speech and its variation of pitch is also a part of their characteristics. Spectral and temporal characteristics of squealing sounds and recognition of the sounds using these features will be reported.
