Abstract

We develop an alignment monitor which can work in a severe environment of high magnetic field and vacuum stably. Here, we report feasibility studies of the two optics for evaluating an absolute distance interferometer, which configures our alignment monitor. The one is by comparative measurement with a reference interferometer for evaluating operation in vacuum, and the other is by referring a gauge block for evaluating operation in high magnetic field. We compare the evaluated values for the optical pulse intervals generated by an etalon by using the two optics with a reference obtained by using interference signals between an optical frequency comb and the etalon.
