Green sand casting is an old process which uses green sand to produce molds. Today, about a half of casted products are still produced from this process because of low cost, easy sand reuse and the ability to cast large shape products. Such a tendency will probably be continuing for a while. However, this casting method is not easily controlled during production, because the sand adhesion force in the mixing process Varies, also the force changes over time. The green sand adhesion force decline is the major reason of mold breaking and other defects. In this study, quality engineering approach was utilized to find the optimum condition to produce the green sand with a strong adhesion force and small adhesion force changes over time.
