Abstract
In recent years, the quality of copy machines or printers using the electrophotographic system is becoming better and better. As an electro-photographic product manufacturer, we are trying to optimize the developing device and minimize the particle size of developer for quality improvement. In order to optimize the mixing process of developing device, it is generally considered that stabilizing the distribution of charged amount of developer leads to the improvement of print quality. It is therefore important to evaluate the variability of the charged amount of individual toner particles in the developing process as a mean of evaluating mixing function. After the optimization of the developing device, a more stable mixing function in a given developer mixing time was obtained. The evaluation technique developed from this study is being applied to the development of a new developing device.
