抄録

The present research was started for obtaining in Ni-Cr-Mn system, an austenite steel which is as good as 18/8 s. s., a typical austenite stainless steel of Ni-Cr-Mn system, in the mechanical, physical, and chemical properties, with less Ni applied than in the latter steel.
The research was divided into the first and second stages ; in the first stage, stress was laid on the determination of the mechanical and physical properties and on getting, out of the alloys thus obtained, a certain alloy which would be considered to be the best one. Then the fourth element was intended to be added to it.
In the second stage, an improvement on its corrosion resistance was intended.
The study having so far shown expected results as to some kinds of alloy, a report on the first stage is given in the following.
