Abstract

“Cool Japan Strategy” is the policies and initiatives produced by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan. This project aims to cultivate creative industries, promote these industries in Japan and abroad, and other related initiatives from cross-industry and cross-government standpoints. We focus attention on the Japanese sub-cultural/pop-cultural phenomenon. This article investigates the formative history and factor influencing popularity in Paris, French, especially the Keller Street at 11th arrondissement. We also identified user visibilities and user demands for Japanese pop cultures. The results indicate that visibility of Keller Street as a hub of Japanese pop culture was 36% among the participants in the Japan Expo. 80% of visitors to Keller Street indicated attractive destination as plentiful supplies of the contents of Japanese pop cultures for this street.
