Abstract

Basic research of modern port town is fewer than other cities. In addition, since it is necessary for a port town before the early modern period to have a natural good port, it is presumed that the topography and the city form of the port town are related to each other. Because there are few materials of early modern times and it is difficult to compara analysis of port town, this research is classified by city form of modern port town and topography located by using modern materials, it is aimed at grasping the relationship of each. As a result of the analysis. It was found that there are many port towns where the mountain is approaching and located in the bay and the urban area is only in contact with the sea, and all the port towns located in the meander are all in contact with rivers.
