An Approach to Actual Condition of School Commute and Use of Bicycle on High School Students

As the Target of Taira district in Iwaki City

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to clarify the actual condition of school commute and use of bicycle on high school students as the target of Taira district in Iwaki city. In particular, it is to clarify the reasons for choosing school commute means and the characteristics of each users and to clarify the problems of school commute. <br>The results of the questionnaire survey, which was carried out at six high schools, it was able to clarify the current state of transportation at the time of school commute with the reason for choosing it, and the characteristics of the students who choose that means of transportation. In addition, it was able to clarify the difference of commute means from station on the viewpoints of distance, gender, and school. Furthermore, it was able to clarify the possession and utilization of the bicycle, and in the same way, it was able to clarify the actual condition of bicycle use in school commute and daily life. In addition to the smooth operation of public transportation such as railroad and bus connection, it must try to improve the environment for using bicycles including maintenance of a parking lot for a station.
