Current state and issues concerning revitalization of agriculture from nuclear disaster in Fukushima

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to clarify current state and issues concerning revitalization of agriculture since nuclear disaster in Fukushima. It clarifies that (1) agricultural damage in 59 municipalities in Fukushima has not been resolved even 10 years after the accident, (2) many issues concerning revitalization of agriculture remain in 12 municipalities affected by nuclear disaster particularly, and (3) new efforts for concerning revitalization of agriculture are being promoted. This study points out that it is important to provide support based on the actual conditions of the municipalities and to take new measures to eliminate harmful rumors.
