This paper introduces an example of the urban farmland system that was adopted by the City of Hiroshima beginning in 2020 and considers the perspectives necessary to introduce this system to local governments from the point of view of city government. After confirming the current state of urban farming in Hiroshima City and the issue of inheritance, it examines the requirements necessary for urban farmland and the relationship it has with agricultural cooperatives, and finally, discusses the future direction of community-focused city planning that coexists with agriculture.
