Study on the effect and significance of the Amagasaki Castle Tower reconstruction

Abstract

In 2018 Amagasaki Castle Tower was reconstructed and donated to city government. The purpose of this study is to investigate how people recognize the reconstructed castle tower and to find out the significance of reconstruction. We conducted the questionnaire survey to visitors of the castle tower in December 2021 and collected 154 responses. The results shows that the castle tower is recognized as a sightseeing spot because it provides historical exhibitions and events to visitors. It can be an opportunity for visitors to have interest in local history and that contribute to the city’s tourism policies. The reconstructed castle tower improved image of the city and push historical city planning forward.
