Abstract

This research takes one of the most important Chinese cultural city and the Chinese capital , Beijing, as an object of study. It will be considered through seeking to grasp the formation process of the historical environment conservation system to make clear present situation of it, and divide it into four periods from the special feature of the formation process. The first period is from 1950 to 1980 , the conservation of historical environment is based on the conservation of the cultural relics. From1980 to 1990, the cultural relics and the environment around it are the object of conservation.. In 1990,the three levels formed , it refers to the conservation of cultural,conservation of conservation district ,andconservation of historical city.
