Abstract

The aim of this paper is to have an outline of activities and organizational operations of German NPOs in a field of urban renovation. It is difficult to identify NPOs which work for common good of general public in Germany. This paper deals with registered associations as NPOs, and investigate objectives, fields, activities, stuffs, budget, networks, cooperative relationships. 50 organizations are classified into six groups depending on activity sphere, initiative, and field. They are national all-around promotion type, national specific campaign type, regional consensus type, regional practice type, local movement type, and local self-help type. The features of activities are different from type to type, but most organizations which work actively have various networks and cooperative relationships between various organizations and have special partnership with voluntary professionals.
