Abstract

Recovery process of the affected areas due to the 2004 Sumatra Tsunami entered the final stage of recovery aiming at permanent settlement. In Indonesia, Thailand, and Sri Lanka, the governments made urban recovery master plan for the catastrophically affected cities in which the existed previous city planning became unavailable. However, those process and organizations were often changed according to recovery stage, and there are some differences among them. This paper compares Urban Recovery Master Plan conducted by those countries from the viewpoints of official organization, changing of the coastal conservation zoning regulation.
