The authors proposed a methodology to apply existed urban spatial archives such as historical old maps and aerial photographs to Google Earth for the digital recovery archives in a previous research. However, consideration of effective usage of the archive still remains. In order to discuss the possibilities, this paper demonstrates the urban transition of earthquake vulnerability risk in Marunouchi area from 1907 until 2000 from viewpoints of building collapse risk, fire spreading risk, and evacuation risk. The result indicates effective usability of using old maps as digital archives to understand the transition of the risk. Also, it shows future vision of the digital recovery archives.
