Abstract

In this research, we proposed the method of the operation of flexible lane which can respond at snowfall, and examined possibility to be realized. 1) We investigated the object route in the snowfall days. Pedestrians and bicycles are very dangerous to pass through carriage way, because the snow cover on pavements is not secured. In addition, from the traffic survey data, it is the cause of traffic accident and congestion due to the occupancy rate of the second vehicular lane is equal to or less than 10%. 2) We suggested that exclusive bicycle lane is used as for the place that accumulates snow. 3) We used Macro-Simulation to predict switched traffic volume to the other route. As a result, the influence of the traffic volume to the alternative route showed few things. 4) With Micro-Simulation, we predicted the length of congested traffic flow and the average speed. As a result, the smoothness of traffic was rather improved.
