Abstract
Bronchopneumonia still occupies the first place as the cause of the death of children with severe brain damage, suggesting the importance of proper treatment on the part of physical therapists for their respiratory functions. In order to give them effective training for their respiratory organs, first of all, we work toward helping strengthen control of antigravity of the head and thereby maintain the function of the airway. Secondly we go about putting the postural tone of thorax in order, develop its mobility and flexibility, improve its compliance up to as normal as possible and finally create the appropriate internal thoracic cavity pressure. Thirdly as it is reported as for children with severer brain damage you execute and fulfil a set of principles to integrate these effects into coordinated chest-abdomen breathing.
The aim of this research is to examine the two cases of severe brain damage respectively before and after treatment performed through the measures mentioned above, and appreciate and assess them.
By way of comparison, the number of the breaths per minute, the time to sustain the head in a sitting position, the respiratory curve, the oxygen saturation of arterial blood and the observation of breathing pattern through the video are employed. After the treatments the decrease in the number of breaths and the increase in the head sustaining time are attained thus the efficacious improvements obtained.
And in the final analysis I have confirmed the validity of the measures from the principles established and thought out.
