Abstract
A solid and cystic tumor of the pancreas (SCT) in a 64-year-old woman is described.
The patient was seen at a nearby practitoner because of discomfort in the stomach. She was pointed out having a mass in the upper part of the abdomen and was referred to the hospital. Lapboratory findings on admission showed diabetes, however, no otherwise abnormal finding were noted. Abdominal ultrasonotography and computed tomography revealed a cystic mass in the pancreas.
Pancreatic cystadenocarcinoma was suspected and operation was performed. A pathologic examination revealed a solid and cystic tumor. Solid and cystic tumors are commonly found in young women. It is rare that SCT was diagnosed in an aged patient and demanded operation like this case.
