抄録
The purpose of this study is to determine the impact of seasonal work in the kelp industry on the social networks of workers and the local community. The results suggest that seasonal work may expand the social networks of workers with very small networks. Furthermore, it was found that an increase of seasonal workers from outside the island contributes to the sustainability of the kelp industry and has positive effects on the local community.
