In the river channel improvement in Kannna River where the magnitude of flood flow has been reduced due to construction of a large dam the removal of thick vegetation of invasive alien tree species such as locust tree was examined.
The process of vegetation development in the river course was presumed by clarifying the factors of changes of river morphology, the possible changes in river channel geometry were predicted using the information identified, and the vegetation removal method, accounting for flood magnitude change and the temporal and spatial transition of the river channel geometry was proposed as a part of the river management strategies.
