In this paper, was constructed to target the small and medium-sized river basins distributed runoff model that can evaluate the function of flood control ponds for agricultural. Analyzed by this model for flood, flood damaged, were discussed with respect to reduction effect of flow reduction and flood damage.
As a result was estimated, ponds and flood is cleared approximately 14% by reducing the peak flow of approximately 10%.Therefore, it was suggested that existing ponds for agriculture have contributed to the reduction of flood damage. Furthermore it was suggested that, as a result of verification the effect of pre-discharge ponds, flood damage reduction effect of flow reduction and further has been confirmed, in the small and medium-sized rivers and the introduction of effective measures basin.
