Short-time torrential rainfall causes frequent urban inundations in recent years. Storm water regulating ponds are used as countermeasures against those disasters, but their mitigation effect of urban inundation is not clear yet. In this study, the authors’ integrated model is applied to an actual urban area, and mitigation effect of a regulating pond is evaluated by comparing resultant overland inundation. Consequently, it is found out that diversion weir height of a sewer pipe would have much influence on overland inundation than weir length, that precipitation pattern and storage capacity of the regulating pond also affects its function, and that installation of a regulating pond to upstream area would decrease inundation damage more than installation to downstream area.
