2015年関東・東北豪雨における鬼怒川の洪水氾濫・家屋被害・堤防被災状況

A significantly severe flood disaster in the Kinugawa basin, Kanto region, Japan was occurred due to a linear precipitation band on Sep. 10, 2015, in which 2 days total rainfall was over 600mm on the upstream basin. Breach and overflow on the river levee happened and they submerged around 40km² area of the flood plain in the Joso city, Ibaraki Pref. This report is to inform a summary of the flood and damage based on field investigation. As a result of our field survey, house wash-out or serious damage were distributed locally on the band of overtopping flow on the bank failure. Inundation depth reached up to 3.01 m especially in the southern region of the flood. The depth of overtopping flow on the levee crown was estimated to be 20 cm at the levee breach spot.
