Hydrological observed data such as water level, rainfall and river discharge are important for not only river planning but flood forecasting and so on. However, there is no specific standard for equipment setting of the observation, which poses a problem to come up errors or reduce the accuracy of observation data. On the other hand, much implicit and technical knowledge to reduce errors and improve the accuracy are stored in equipment makers and local engineers who are in charge of equipment maintenance as their experiences.
In this study, the implicit and technical knowledge in local engineers were systematized to improve the accuracy and stability and finally sum up the outcome as a guideline which is expected to be spread in engineers related to hydrological observation.
