En 2019 a eu lieu pour la première fois à Taïwan un concours national d'éloquence en français destiné aux étudiants des universités. Notre intervention présente la façon dont nous avons profité de cette opportunité au sein de notre université pour entrainer le plus d'étudiants possible dans cette aventure et susciter chez eux motivation, envie d'apprendre de nouvelles choses, implication, et en même temps pour dynamiser les cours. Mobilisés autour de ce projet, avec une réelle envie de gagner, à la fois le prix, mais aussi la gratification de la reconnaissance officielle de leur compétence, les apprenants s'investissent dans les débats, cherchent le meilleur moyen pour convaincre, recherchent des informations. Produire un discours nécessite par ailleurs un véritable travail sur le corps : projeter sa voix, travailler sa tenue, travailler l'expressivité… Il s'agit d'autant de difficultés pour des apprenants taïwanais qui ont globalement tendance à être passifs, souvent timides. Ce type de tâche nécessite de prendre confiance en soi, ce qui leur servira non seulement pour parler en français, mais également pour toute leur vie. Bien que n'étant pas initialement prévu dans nos objectifs, utiliser cette opportunité pour enrichir les cours s'est avéré très fructueux.
In 2019, a national eloquence competition in French for university students was held for the first time in Taiwan. Our intervention presents the way in which we took advantage of this opportunity within our university to train as many students as possible in this adventure and to arouse their motivation and desire to learn new things, involvement, and at the same time to energize courses. Mobilized around this project, with a real desire to win not only the price, but also the gratification of the official recognition of their competence, the learners get involved in the debates, seek the best means to convince, and seek information. Making a speech also requires real work on the body: projecting your voice, working on your outfit, working on expressiveness... These are all difficulties for Taiwanese learners who generally tend to be passive, and often shy. This type of task requires building self-confidence, which will help them not only to speak French, but also for their entire lives. Although not initially foreseen in our objectives, using this opportunity to enrich the courses has proven to be very successful.
