La Mongolie est un pays ni francophone ni francophile et pourtant il existe une communauté mongole francophone importante comparativement à la faible densité de population.Les relations diplomatiques actuelles entre la Mongolie et la France se sont établies le 27 avril 1965 pourtant les premiers contacts sont toutefois bien plus anciens. Après la Révolution mongole de 1921, quatre élèves mongols partent en France pour y étudier ; deux élèves au Lycée Michelet de Vanves et deux élèves à l’Université de Paris, Sorbonne. Certains d’entre eux se distinguent par des prix d’excellence. Le français a été officiellement enseigné à partir de 1963 au sein de l’Université Nationale de Mongolie qui en a d'ailleurs célébré cette année le 60e anniversaire.
Par ce présent article, nous ferons dans un premier temps un bref état de la relation entre la Mongolie et la France afin de mieux appréhender leurs coopérations éducatives et linguistiques. Dans un second temps, nous analyserons la situation de la formation du français dans le pays et nous conclurons sur les images du français par les apprenants mongols.
Mongolia is a country that is neither French-speaking nor Francophile and yet there is a significant French-speaking Mongolian community compared to the low population density. Current diplomatic relations between Mongolia and France were established on April 27, 1965, although the first contacts are much older. After the Mongolian Revolution of 1921, four Mongolian students went to France to study: two students at the Lycée Michelet in Vanves and two students at the Sorbonne. Some of them are distinguished by awards of excellence. French was officially taught from 1963 at the National University of Mongolia, which also celebrated its 60th anniversary this year. In this article, we will first provide a brief overview of the relationship between Mongolia and France to better understand their educational and linguistic cooperation. Secondly, we will analyze the situation of French training in the country, and we will conclude with the images of French by Mongolian learners.
