Abstract

This research is the result of the first year of the 3‒year plan aiming to systematize the record management science. The systematization of the record management science here means that practitioners seek clues to locate their individual cases experienced by themselves in the generalized record management system and to observe, consider and improve their daily management practice. In other words it is intended for the practitioners to be able to explore their own paths. The record continuum theory, for example, discusses the existence of records as research observation subjects. However, record management science leading to realistic practice have been crying out for systematization for a long time but only case studies has been accumulated, and the overall framework of the system is not clear yet. Therefore, we decided to explore the clues of systematization of records management science based on the present document system on which practitioners rely on their daily business performance. In this research, we gathered various document management rules and regulations to make comparative analyze their terms and definitions.
