Sera from 26 patients containing LDH linked IgA-κ were analyzed. These sera were bufferized in glycine HCl buffer, pH 3.0 and rebufferized in phosphate buffer, pH 7.4. LDH isoenzymes were obtained from mixture of patients sera with high total LDH levels and without LDH linked immunoglobulins, through an ion exchange gel filtration. LDH IgA-κ complexes in mixtures of the acid treated sera and LDH isoenzymes were investigated by electrophoresis, immunoprecipitin reaction technique and thin layer gel chromatography. LDH 2, 3 and 4 linked IgA-κ were detected in a case, LDH 2 and 3 linked IgA-κ were in 9 cases, LDH 3 linked IgA-κ was in 15 cases, LDH 4 linked IgA- and κ was in a case. From this study, two different complex formations of LDH 2 and IgA-κ were suggested at the natures of anti α chains antibody and anti κ chains antibody reactions, and at the electrophoretic patterns.
